The José Barluenga Medal is a prize awarded yearly since 2017 by the Organic Chemistry Division (Grupo Especializado de Química Orgánica, GQOR) of the Spanish Royal Society of Chemistry (Real Sociedad Española de Química, RSEQ) to some of its members with at least fifteen years having passed between the dates of the Ph.D. thesis defense and the call for applications and whose scientific career, after its initial phase of independent research, reflects a qualitative leap.
